My Wireless Motovlog Setup 2025 - DJI Action 5 Pro & Mic Mini!

Tuesday, July 01, 2025

Motovlogging used to mean dealing with messy wires, adapters, and syncing audio in post. Not anymore. In 2025, I finally switched to a fully wireless motovlog setup, and it’s been a total game changer.

Here’s what I currently use:

  • DJI Action 5 Pro Adventure Combo

  • DJI Mic Mini (Wireless Microphone)

  • Telesin ND Filters

  • MT Thunder 3 Pro Helmet

  • Helmet Mount Setup

I’ll walk you through how I’ve set everything up to get the best possible footage and audio while riding.

Action Camera: DJI Action 5 Pro

This is my main camera. It’s small, powerful, and perfect for helmet mounting. The built-in stabilization is amazing, and it handles wind noise really well. The magnetic mounting system is super easy to use — no tools or fiddling required.

Wireless Mic: DJI Mic Mini

This mic is the star of the setup. No wires, no adapters, no syncing. Just clip it on, plug the receiver into the camera, and you’re good to go.

  • Clear voice even inside a helmet

  • Compact and lightweight

  • Long battery life (lasts all day)

Mounts & Extras

  • Magnetic helmet mount (safe, quick and easy to remove)

  • ND filters for motion blur

  • Various Mounting Accessories – J-hook, straight joints, Velcro, etc.

Why I Love This Setup

  • No messy wires inside the helmet

  • Audio and video sync automatically

  • Camera is waterproof (and mic stays dry if visor is closed)

  • Looks clean and professional

  • Setup takes under a minute

This setup has made motovlogging easier, cleaner, and way more enjoyable. Whether I’m riding through city traffic or exploring mountain roads, it just works — no fuss, no complications.
